ERCP endoscopy

Please visit Dr. Segedi's website, (one of our surgeons in the department who practices this service) to find out information about making an appointment, where to go for your procedure as well as instructions on what to do before you have the procedure.
What is an ERCP Endoscopy?
ERCP endoscopy, or Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography, is a procedure used to diagnose and treat problems in the bile ducts, pancreas, and gallbladder. It is a combination of endoscopy and z-ray imagining that allow doctors to diagnose and treat various conditions.
During the procedure, a flexible tube with a light and camera is inserted into the patient's mouth and down into the stomach and small intestine. It is then used to guide a small tube into the bile ducts and pancreas, allowing the doctor to take images to diagnose any problems.

We provide therapeutic endoscopy of the biliary tract (also known as ERCP) for benign and malignant disease of bile ducts and pancreas.
